I want to became a line cook in a New York City restaurant do I need to go to culinary school to become a line cook or can I just go and learn from the Chef if he is willing to teach me.. I want to break into the restaurant Business to become a chef by starting as a line cook
To work in a gourmet room or one of the higher end restaurants, they’d prefer you to have gone to culinary school. To work in Applebees or Friday’s, they don’t care.
